Ar. Asami Takahashi

Principal Architect

Singapore BOA registered

B.Arch, B.Econs

  • Asami Takahashi is Principal Architect of Yume Architects. Her work is informed by a multidisciplinary background spanning architecture, computer systems engineering, economics, and music.

She holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Cornell University, where she was awarded the Charles Goodwin Sands Medal in recognition of her outstanding thesis project. Asami has practiced at internationally renowned offices including Toyo Ito & Associates, Architects (Tokyo), Steven Holl Architects (New York), and Weiss/Manfredi (New York). Her project experience includes the FILA Barcelona Auditorium, Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive, and the SUMIKA Project (Toyo Ito & Associates); the Lewis Center for the Arts at Princeton University (Steven Holl Architects); and Novartis Building 1 (Weiss/Manfredi), among others.

Prior to her architectural training, Asami earned a Bachelor of Economics from Hitotsubashi University, Tokyo, and worked as a software engineer. She was part of the team that developed Japan’s first mobile phone–based hotel reservation system, predating the smartphone era. This technical foundation continues to inform her architectural approach, particularly in the integration of computational thinking and design processes.

In addition to her architectural practice, Asami is a classically trained violinist and remains actively involved in local ensemble groups.
