Principal Designer

Co-founder

Dr.Sc,

 M.Eng, B.Arch

Jason Lim is the co-founder of YUME Architects. With his background in architecture, engineering, and computation, Jason adopts a unique approach to design that combines artistic intuition with technical mastery. He has dedicated his professional and academic life to exploring the intersection of design and technology—notably in robotic fabrication, algorithmic design, and augmented reality—in search of new unimagined possibilities.

Jason completed his doctoral dissertation at the world-renowned Gramazio Kohler Research unit in the Department of Architecture at ETH Zurich. Prior to that, he graduated with a Master of Engineering from the Stevens Institute of Technology, as well as a Bachelor of Architecture from Cornell University. He is a recipient of the prestigious American Institute of Architects (AIA) Henry Adams merit prize that is awarded for academic distinction. Before returning to Singapore, Jason worked in New York City for the office BriggsKnowles Architecture + Design, which specializes in sustainable design.  He was also a freelance coder and artist assistant at the experimental Eyebeam Art + Technology centre.

Jason is a deeply committed and experienced educator who wants to bridge the gap between academia and practice. He has been a faculty member at the Architecture Sustainable Design pillar in Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) since 2017. He also taught at the National University of Singapore (NUS), Stevens Institute of Technology and Parsons the New School for Design.
